Master Biscuit

Don't get too excited.

Seriously. I don't have a lot to say. Most of the games I was excited about have not just been pushed back, but to be more precise, a group of executives whose sole jobs are to set release dates came together with an entire bag of golf clubs, and the remainder of the story involves a calender, my pride, and bludgeoning.

I had a chance to get my hands on an early demo of Burnout: Revenge, the newest game in the Burnout racing series for the Xbox and PS2. EA has done it again, improving and improving on subtleties that make every one of these games the most fun racer I've ever experienced. Each track is specifically designed with multiple routes, incorporating shortcuts abound, as well as dozens of opportunities to kill or be killed against walls, pillars, and traffic. Traffic is now interactive in so far as you can slam a random car ahead or aside into your opponents. Each race measures your driving skill, takedown points, and the new revenge factor, which adds to your unlockables, overall ranking, and the money earned at the end of each race (which I assume will be used to unlock new cars or features, but the demo left this to the imagination). As of right now, Revenge is slated for a September release, but much like everything else, this could change. Whatever the case, wait for it, and jump at your local stores on release day. It'll be worth every penny.

Movies.

Wedding Crashers is hands down the funniest movie I've ever seen. I seriously feel the need to see this movie again, because I felt like I was laughing so hard from one joke that I missed the next string flying out of Vince Vaugn's mouth. If you haven't caught this one yet, trust me, you need to. Old School, Dodgeball... they don't even touch it.

Music.

I can't really say that the Stealth movie looks all that good, but the soundtrack is absolutely amazing. New songs from Incubus, some of which are pretty decent, the primary release "Bug Eyes" from Dredg, a melodic, almost trance-like release from the mainstream, and the main reason I went after this album: "Bullet-Proof Skin" by Institute, the new band by Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. Institute's album will be released in the second week of September, which would explain the lack of new material from Bush. But from the sound of "Bullet-Proof Skin," it's been worth the wait. Check out the soundtrack for a good mix of music, but definitely keep your ears prepped for Institute.

That's all for now. Blindside and Staind have new albums dropping in the next week. Stay tuned for reviews.
