Holy flying monkey hump, Batman!

...I honestly think I stopped relating the body of the reviews to the titles. So, Marvel Nemesis. Eventually, I had to tell you about it. So here goes:

Marvel Nemesis is the one true Marvel fighting game done very well in full on 3D environments. It pits fighters against one another who are in no way, shape, or form capable of standing up to one another, which is awesome. Here you have Wolverine, a close combat badass, and then you have Storm, who literally blows the shit out of him from across the arena. Is this fair? Hell no! That's what makes this game cool to me. You actually have character diversity and they are limited to their distinct mutant powers. Now, the game counters this overbearing advantage by limiting your energy for mutant powers, and also allowing for blocks and dodging. But when you execute continuous, fierce combinations, you unlock a "rage" mode, giving you unlimited energy for a short time. A match can literally be over in 15 seconds if you play hard enough.

Take that or leave it. You start with a limited number of mutants, and by playing through their respective storylines, you unlock more characters (including the bad guys) for match play. And the villains that Marvel and EA created are actually pretty cool with strong backgrounds that add to the overall story.

The controls are very easy to use and placed appropriately. Music's alright. Not great, not bad. Purgatory, if you will. The only drawback to the overall game may be in the absolute ease of being obliterated by a difficult character. I must have fought Elektra on Daredevil's storymode like 17 times before I killed her. That can get frustrating.

Score: 8/10

Next update, Indigo Prophecy and Shadow of the Colossus, both of which are amazing games. Details to follow. I'll probably also have a music review to throw in here for absolutely no reason. I'm pretty sure none of you read this for music updates, but...

Actually, I'm not sure why any of you read this.

Also, next week, Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi and Soul Calibur III. It's been worth the wait.
